Oh boy! Back to school this year is highly anticipated. I’ll be homeschooling my daughter for the first time! I’m ready to get started so we can hammer out the details about what schedule feels right and the pace of it all. I’m also so excited to dig into STEAM projects and robotics and get our hands dirty tinkering! Can’t wait!

I’m a teacher, so going back to school means going back to work after 2 months off. I do love shopping for new supplies, though! And I love getting my son a new lunchbox each year. We do a special back to school dinner and make his choice of meal and talk about our goals. I like that it’s a time of fresh starts!

Even though I’m not a full time student anymore, I’m excited to take some continuing education classes this fall! My favorite part of going back to class again is getting everything organized & breaking in my new Ban.do planner! I have already hit up those Target back to school sales so I am almost ready to go. I love back to school season for many reasons– colorful supplies, a fresh start, and renewed energy– but this year I’m most excited about teaching the same subject after 3 years of teaching different subjects! It will be my fourth year teaching.

I am most excited about having another year with both my children at home with me before the oldest begins school. I left my career behind in DC to move to Alabama and stay home a few years with my son and daughter. The transition was bigger than I imagined but every day we grow, not just the babies but our entire family unit. I plan to cherish every dinosaur roar, smushed crunchy on the carpet, and nighttime routine because it’s true that babies don’t keep. Much love to all the parents out there raising the good people of our future.

I am a teacher and I already accepted that I would never be the one that would take my kids to school on their first day (since I assumed we would be having the same “first days”). Anyway, I found out last week that my baby (who will be in kindergarten) will be starting a few days before I need to report back! I am SO excited that I will be able to take him.
For my daughter entering Pre-K this year, she is excited to learn to read! She is such a bookworm and gets frustrated that she can’t yet read by herself. I’m nervous for September because I’m going back to school for a masters degree and a career change. I hope I’m not the oldest in my cohort and can keep up with the coursework and family life. I always appreciate your family/work/life balance posts as I can totally relate and use any tips you offer!

I am most excited about school because I will have a second bus-buddy. (My neighbor must get to work before the bus comes so I watch her son for about 40 min. in the mornings and then put him safely on the bus. I’m having his little sister this coming year too. We eat breakfast, play games, toss a football etc.) I recently purchased from Target their big map to color. Every day when the little tikes come over, I am going to have each color one state and tell me a fact about it or we will google a fact. I will try to make it fun and I can’t wait until all 50 states are colored in, I think it will be beautiful.
What I’m most excited for going back to school is that this will be my first official year of teaching, my first class ever, my first babies and I’ve worked so hard to finally get hired full time, my dream has finally come true!

All three have very important years and I know they’ll do well and I’m so excited to see what they will tackle, achieve and experience. It’s such an exciting and scary time but I know they’ll do great things and I can’t wait to help them, guide them and watch them fly.

My oldest Sophie is going into kindergarten. A brand new school without any of her pre-k friends and it is all day v. 3 hours she was doing in pre-k. It is going to be exciting for her but for me I know I’ll be crying my eyes out as I send my baby to her first real day of school. Haha
My niece enjoys making crafts, painting and combing the local park in order to make mud pies for the wood fairies in addition to helping mommy out in the garden. She is very outdoorsey and enjoys family camping trips and fishing, too! We just got her, her first bike, too.
Although only 3, she will be starting her second year of preschool this year. The File Box, File Folders, Patches, Stencil Book, Paper Pad, Pencils, Markers, and the Watercolor Set are perfect for organization and replenishing the much needed and used art supplies. That adorable Oh Joy First Aid Kit is perfect to have on hand for those owies and boo-boos that might come along. The pretty bag makes the experience a calmer one and easy to find and can also double as a doctor bag when roll playing doctor or nurse, too!

I am excited for the future. As a new set of students come through my door (roughly 125+) I realize I am more than a teacher – I am a mentor, an advisor, a spring board to engage them in the life long learning process. This year I am adopting an even more student centered teaching approach, where my students will learn through the process of more peer engagement. Super excited to see how this year progresses! (Side note: my son is going to first grade! Yay and Yikes!)

Didn’t see the school requirement–This year will be my second year teaching third grade after teaching middle school for 17 years. I just find my teaching style so much more relaxed and playful. They would especially love the fancy and colorful band-aids–they’d probably fake a scrape to get one-hahaha.
My daughter loves school thanks to all of the wonderful friends, families, and staff who make it special, so I’m definitely looking forward to that. BUT, I’m a nerd who loves fresh school supplies so that’s at the top of my list too. Notebooks, planners, binders, gel pens… let me at it! Haha.

My oldest will be starting preschool. I have to admit I am nervous, excited, and a bit sad to be entering this phase. Excited for him to have an entirely new experience, make new friends, grow his wings a little. and yet a little sad to let him learn to fly away, if only for three hours each day.
I’m excited about decorating my classroom with a new theme and meeting my new students
My daughter is starting kindergarten and she can hardly wait, so I’m just so excited for her to finally go. It’ll also be nice to spend time with my toddler on our own during the day.
I love seeing the school supplies come out each year! The smell of paper and pencils is always exciting. I’m not in school anymore and I miss the excitement of it all! My son is starting preschool and I’m a little bit jealous.
Excited for back-to-school shopping – adorable supplies and clothing! It’s hard to say who loves it more-me or the kiddo! I can’t believe how time is flying! Third graders are considered part of the “older group” at this school and the kiddo can’t wait for that–or to see school friends!

OMG. What a great giveaway! I love SO many things about beginning of the school year from childhood to not being a mama: 1) picking out your outfit for the first day of school/picking out my children’s outfit for their first day! 2) the feeling of a fresh start! 3) SCHOOL SUPPLY SHOPPING!!!
I work with all grades in a middle school, and I am so excited to see returning students and meet the new ones. It’s such a fun and funny age.

As a teacher I am so excited for a new group of students and a fresh start with them. We all have butterflies at the beginning of the year but I love help building a community and learning alongside my new kiddos!

As an Art teacher for grades K-5th, I am so excited to start a new school year. I can’t wait to see all of my returning students and meet all the new ones! I am ready to immerse them in art and watch them flourish!
It will technically be my official out-of-school this August! I will finally finish my MBA and have time to take my 18m old daughter travelling before she starts school next year.
Back to school means the start of Autumn — my favorite season!

Our two girls are in non-transition years. One in 5th and the other in 7th. This is a year of both already knowing (and loving) their schools. This makes the start of school a bit easier!
I am most excited about my daughter starting high school and my 2 grandsons going into first and second grade. My daughter will have a full schedule but she hopes to be a teacher herself, and is currently in Central America helping out other high school students with their English classes and visiting family-which is great practice for her. My grandsons are looking forward to seeing friends again and making new ones, and I am looking forward to getting their awesome drawings for my fridge!

Having a routine again
September is going to be an exciting time in my house for everyone. My oldest is going into first grade, and I am looking forward to watching him blossom more with his new adventure. My baby is going into his last year of pre-school, which makes me weepy that my baby is growing so fast. My husband and I are switching roles, I am going back to work full time designing baby clothes and he will be Mr. Mom.
