Last week, we brought splatter paint back to a wearable accessory. And today, we're bringing it into the home and onto a very practical item for your home—an entry way mat. It's not quite a rug and needs to be durable in an area that people are walking through most often. Yet, you can still make it fun! Here's how…
You'll need:
- jute rug
– house paint (indoor or outdoor)
– paint brushes
– drop cloth
Here's how:
1. In a well-ventilated area, lay your rug on top of the drop cloth.
2. Using a paintbrush, drip, flick, and splatter the paint all over the rug.
3. Let dry for 8 hours, or overnight. This rug is intended to be used indoors, but if you want to use it outdoors, spray it with a waterproof sealant.
We love using this in an entryway by a bench or near where shoes are placed!
