Painted Circle Purse DIY

We're starting the week off with a super easy and fun DIY to turn any of your old purses into something new again…

Painted Circle Purse DIY

Simply, paint it! Now, I wouldn't do this with a very expensive leather purse. Save this for an inexpensive faux leather bag that you're happy to wear for just a season. Stuff the bag with tissue paper to give it a stiffer surface. Then, use a flat brush and paint using acrylic or fabric paint. The fabric paint is more durable and waterproof but the acrylic paint produces better colors and finish if you wear it in non-rainy seasons. Paint on any pattern you like, but we find simple brush strokes to be easy enough to create without it needing to look perfect.

Voila! This freshens up an old bag or paint a new bag to make as a gift for a friend!

Items shown: Pom Pom at Home throw blanket, Perverse sunglasses (past season), Arro Homepillow, Frends headphones, Boden dress (past season, similar), Target jacket.

  1. My grandmother recently gave me one of her old leather totes that is painted, I’m guessing by the manufacturer, with pink peonies on a yellow background. It makes me SO happy! Love this tutorial! Might try it on the next hand-me down that isn’t already gorgeous!
