This month, I've had to dive down to deep within to really embrace purple (my least favorite color on the planet!) for this month's Color Adventures. I've put together four outfits in various shades of our May theme—purple and blush—from barely there purple to pow-wow purple! See how…

Barely There—This is the outfit you'd wear if you're really just going for a touch of a color. I combined these overalls with a feminine and flowy white top to contrast the vibe of the overalls. Then, I added touches of purple in the earrings and blush in the shoes. I love how the accessories help to make the overalls (which can be an often frumpy piece) in something more chic.

Floral Purple — This is an outfit I'd to wear to the Farmer's Market, brunch, or to a baby/wedding shower. It's pretty, feminine, comfortable, and makes a statement with the full floral print in purple accented with blush from the bag.

Half and Half— In this outfit, I mixed the two colors evenly with a soft lavender skirt and a blush faux leather jacket. It's a great outfit to wear to work or for a summer date night with its soft and feminine feel.

Pow Wow Purple— This vintage romper takes the two colors and screams them loud and proud. In a bold floral print and a fun silhouette, this a statement piece for sure. To offset the bold colors, I added neutral accessories with the sandals and necklace.

So, what do you guys think? I really had a hard time going full purple (except for that last outfit). Could you do the full "Pow Wow" or would you opt for one of the softer options?

  1. My favorite is the half and half, somehow the jacket and skirt show off your proportions perfectly

  2. I LOVE the nude necklace you are wearing in the last outfit! I couldnt believe to find out it was safe for baby too when I went to the website!

  3. In high school I wore purple a lot and my Spanish teacher always hated it! She always reminded me it’s the color many people in Latin countries associate with funerals. Now every time I wear it, I think of her!
