To finish off our yellow and blue pairing for this month's Color Adventures, we're going back to the bedroom for a muted, yet playful, place to slumber…
Focus on the blue. Since we did a very yellow-focused bedroom a few months ago, the blue took center stage on this one. We decided to create a focal point and backdrop for the bed by painting a triangular mountain shape on the wall. That was our focus for the room and styled all the pieces around that.
Start with masculine and add feminine. When we began styling the room, it started off more masculine since the blue mountain dominated the space. So we softened up the room by adding in some pink throw pillows and throw blanket along with yellow accents. We mixed shapes with the throw pillows to give the bed depth which always softens up the look of a bedroom so that everything isn't so flat.
Neutrals are our best friends. To keep it looking like an adult bedroom, we kept the furniture simple in all white and just an accent of rose gold with the side table lamps.
Statement throw. If you don't do any other decorating to your bedroom, a quirky throw always makes an easy (and non-committal) statement.

I love the room. The painting with the face and the mole is so subtle but PERFECT for the room imo! I think I might buy that right now! 😛
