Happy Friday! Today, we're exploring one of my favorite neighborhoods in Los Angeles…Echo Park! Because there are so many amazing coffee spots, shops, and restaurants, we're breaking it up into two posts. First up, we have three spots all on Echo Park Avenue, so you can leisurely walk down one street to discover a few amazing spots. Each shop is curated and designed to perfection. Ready? Let's go!

Shout and About — If you ever need a gift, adorable card, or something extra special for yourself, this is THE place to go. It's a small space, but they truly have it all. The even have clothes and toys for babies, making it perfect for gifting new babies and grown-ups alike.

Cookbook — After Shout & About, head right on over to Cookbook next door. It's a cute little market where you can get fresh produce, pick up a sandwich, or grab a tasty treat. They even have some dried goods, like pasta, jam, and seasonings. My kids and I love stopping in here for some of their freshly baked treats! And of course, don't forget to purchase a few flowers before heading to our next stop…

Valerie — Walk down the street a couple blocks to grab a tea sandwich, coffee, and chocolate from Valerie! The petit fours were rich and dense, perfect if you've got a sweet tooth but don't want a full dessert. And of course, we grabbed some chocolate to take home. You'll often find me snacking on Valerie's chocolate bars late at night 😉

  1. shout and about and cookbook sound like my kind of places!! finding out about gems like these makes me homesick for LA (we moved to San Diego from Pasadena four years ago). p.s. where is Julia’s grey cardigan from? 🙂

  2. Shout and About look like such an incredible shop and Echo Park is now definitely on my list of places to visit (when I eventually get over to LA from England). I wish we had shops like that over here, fingers crossed they are online too!

  3. We love our neighborhood and our little shops. I’m happy to stay a little undiscovered over here 🙂 I walk to Ostrich Farm and totally happy to keep that gem off everyone’s radar, LOL.
