How To Wear Vintage Brooches / Oh Joy!

How To Wear Vintage Brooches / Oh Joy!

It’s no secret that I love vintage pins! They’re such a fun, easy way to add a little detail to any outfit that is unique to you, your style, and whatever mood you’re in at that moment. And of course, they can make an outfit you’ve had forever feel good as new! If you aren’t sure where to start or have never worn pins before, I’m going to show you a few of my favorite, unexpected ways to wear them and how I group them together…

On A Scarf — Scarves definitely feel ladylike and adding a few brooches makes the combination feel extra special and sophisticated and chic. You can have a few pins attached where the scarf is knotted or trail down the side.

On A Jacket — This is the most common type of piece to wear with brooches. For me, it’s about mixing a few together that go together like family members. They don’t match exactly yet work together somehow. I love placing them at the upper chest area or closer to the necklace for a jacket or coat with a collar.

On A Pocket  — Finally, a less common (but very fun) way to style brooches is on a pocket! For this solid green jacket, I wanted to spruce it up a bit with some special detailing. Since the pockets aren’t functional, I added these three in a nice little cluster on the left pocket!

  1. I got into pins a couple years ago. I even have one that belonged to my husband’s late grandmother. I don’t wear the all the time-especially with a new bay, but I do love looking at them and look forward to when I can wear them again.
That rainbow pin set is my favorite!

  2. Wow, I love how you have styled these! I always look at vintage pins with longing but would never have known how to incorporate them into an outfit – can’t wait to give this a go!
