For this month's Pattern Adventure, we created a dotty spot to sit! A lot of people love wearing polka dots, but have you ever tried styling with them before? Jumbo dots are super playful, so you typically see them in kid rooms or playroom…but today, we're showing you how to style them in a fun adult living room! Check it out…

Color Palette — This room was inspired by dots (of course!), but also by the color scheme of our dotty settee! We played off the pale blue, coral, and bright yellow to create a cheerful, playful space. Having a consistent palette helps keep the space feeling consistent and intentional.

Wall Decor — We added in dots in textural ways to the walls! First, we painted a giant circle in the corner. It adds interest and is a fun detail all on its own. Then, to play with color and texture, we spray-painted cake pans in solid colors and hung them on the wall to create a small vignette. To add some sophistication, we also added in an accents of gold with simple circular mirror and other decorative accents.

Lots of Layers — Most round rugs are on the smaller side (this one being 5'), so we layered a large neutral area rug under the blue circle rug to expand its usable area. Then top it off with round pillows in varying sizes for added interest and extra cozy spots to sit!
