I'll be honest, I'm not super into fringe. I tend to prefer cleaner lines and flatter heights of rugs. But the fringe trend is everywhere (both in cloth and home decor) so we wanted to show you how we'd interpret it and bring it into a space!

We're showing how we let this pretty rug inspire a bright, cozy seating area…

Start with a base inspiration piece. This rug is great because it has a neutral base with fun pops of fringe and color throughout. Also, because the fringe is scattered throughout the rug, it's not too overwhelming and brings in just a touch of texture.

Add more fringe. When styling this room, we made sure to incorporate the fun texture of the rug in other textiles, art, and even on the planters. We worked off the palette of blues, greens, and corals to keep the space consistent and injected a few splashes of yellows and gold as accents throughout.

Wall art. We hung artwork that played off the color palette and mimicked the texture of the rug, both literal and figuratively. Wall hangings are a great way to add texture to a space while also helping it feel cozy. The lady paining above the gallery uses painting techniques that gives the piece a textured feel and compliments the space so well. When styling with texture, be sure to also use materials that aren't as soft, like porcelain, glass, and metals.

Pillows. We brought in fun pillows to add another textural element to the space. To balance it out, we made sure to throw in a few pillows that were more neutral and sleek.

Ta-da! It's a bit boho, a bit modern, and all fun!
