I love having visual reminders of things I want to do—whether it's bigger goals I want to achieve over time, mantras I want to be reminded of daily, or simply things that I need to accomplish that day. So today, we have a super colorful way to keep track of day-to-day tasks with a painted dry erase board! Having a colorful way to display them helps keep my space feeling bright while keeping whatever my task is for the day at top of mind. And because it's dry erase, it's easy to change my focus daily! So here's how to make one of your own…
You'll need…
- acrylic sheet
– electric drill
– 1/4" drill bit
– ruler
– dry erase marker
– acrylic paint
– paint brush
– Chicago screws
– string
Here's how…
1. Using a dry erase marker and ruler, measure 3/4" in from each corner and mark with a dot.
2. Drill where you marked the dots.
3. Paint jumbo dots with acrylic paint (or any pattern you want!). You may need to do more than one layer of each color to make it more opaque. Let paint dry 5 minutes between each layer.
4. Continue with each additional color you'd like to add, waiting 10 minutes for previous paint color to dry.
5. Insert Chicago screws through each hole.
6. Tie a double knot with the string around two of the Chicago screws. This will be the string to hang you board from.
