color adventures: a sophisticated pink heart bedroom…

For this month's Color Adventures, can you guess what color and pattern we're styling with? Pink AND hearts! It's a classic combo, especially for the month of February. While February usually involves lots of hot pink, red, and hearts galore, today, we're showing you how to take the duo and make it sophisticated and more subdued. Check it out…

Neutral Colors: Thanks to the color palette, this bedroom is soft and sweet without skewing too young! We paired blush with black and lots of neutrals: beige, grey, white, gold, and hints of warm wood accents. The colors give the space a relaxed tone. We also added very small pops of yellow to brighten the space a bit.

Cozy Textures: Texture is always a key player when styling, especially when you want the space to feel cozy. Our Creative Content Director, Julia, wanted this space to be a teenage dream, so we piled on the pillows, faux fur rugs, and soft quilts. We even brought in a velvet chair and added a ruffled wall hanging to help tie the space together.

Subtle Theme: Lastly, we didn't overdo it with the heart theme. We could've gone heart EVERYTHING, but instead we picked just a few pieces to incorporate the pattern—one piece of heart artwork, one giant heart pillow, and one heart decal for the wall. All of these pieces softly blend into the space and don't demand all your attention. When you just want a subtle theme, a little goes a long way!

  1. Decorating with hearts is one of my favorite things! When my husband & I got married we had a very nontraditional grown up room of dinosaurs & hearts & twinkle lights. We LOVED it. Now, we have subtle details throughout our home- a heart throw pillow, a heart night light, hearts drawn on our chalkboard…You’re never too old for hearts.
