Style Tips: Tropical Vacation

For me, vacation outfits are about being fun, festive, but also comfy since you never know where the day could take you or exactly what you’ll be doing. Here a few outfits I’m packing for my trip…

For me, vacation outfits are about being fun, festive, but also comfy since you never know where the day could take you or exactly what you’ll be doing. I’m on vacation this week to Cabo…and wanted to share a few outfits I’m packing for my trip…

Outfit 1 – Day Dancing
Flirty and fun, this combo makes me want to dance! While I don’t typically show my midriff for everyday outfits, summer vacations feel like the time that I could show “a little” skin and I prefer high-waisted styles like this skirt from our current ODells collection.

Tip: Remember skirts can be comfy, too! Pick ones that have flowy fabrics, pockets, and feel easy to move in.

Outfit 2 – Beach Chill
I typically like wearing dress-style coverups over my bathing suit, but high-waisted lightweight pants offer a great option, too. It makes for a great look to wear from pool to lunch and back again!

Tip: Make sure any pieces that are coverup worthy feel light, loose, and airy. It’s okay if they are a little sheer, too. This is the type of look that welcomes a little sheer and keeps you cool for the islands or beach!

Outfit 3 – Easy Exploring
For a day you’ll be out and about and possibly walking a lot, pair a top with some elastic waistband shorts (this is NOT a time you want jean shorts!). I love the pop of color here that’s perfect for a warm destination.

Tip: Don’t forget the front tuck to make an outfit with shorts more flattering.

Outfit 4 – Beach Dinner
A light layer is a must for those slightly cooler nights. I love a long, festive maxi for dinners with an easy jacket or sweater on top.

Tip: To lighten your suitcase, choose a layering piece that goes with everything. I love the simplicity of this white jacket because it goes with all of my bold and colorful pieces!
