We have an amazing archive of the best (and sometimes easiest!) pumpkin ideas to make your fall decor make you smile…from over-the-top color to more natural fall tones. But my very favorite tip of all for pumpkin decorating?! Use faux-pumpkins! Head to Michaels or another craft store to pick up some pumpkins – and your decor will last years (and not get eaten by local wildlife!) Here are a few projects that came to life with our faux pumpkin friends…
Pumpkins as Table Settings – I love using pumpkins to bring bright color to a fall table-scape and to have one at each place for a name setting if you’re hosting a get together. They’re easy to find at the grocery store, inexpensive, right on season, and so fun! (More details here.)
Pumpkin as Planter – How cute and perfect for the season is this? Cut windows in your pumpkin, or a big opening, and use the interior to “pot” you flowers so they can poke through the openings! You can paint your pumpkin a fun color, or leave it natural and let the flowers bring the color! Either way, you’ll have a beautiful and unique pumpkin display at your front door or throughout your house! (More details here.)
Color-Block Pumpkins – This style works in a big stacked bunch (as pictured) but also as a single pumpkin for a great statement piece. We used variations of the same color to make the color-block on ours, but you could also mix whichever colors you like. Including the stem in the painted block elevates the look even more. (More details here.)
Have you already decorated for fall or Halloween? What’s your favorite way to display pumpkins? Let us know!
Halloween is my favorite season!! I absolutely love the idea of color-block pumpkines – so fun!
