It definitely looks like the Poppy Reserve in Antelope Valley. Now that you live in LA, you’re super close- they should start blooming again in April! Definitely worth a day trip. Check out the park service website for status on the bloom: http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=627

I live about 5 miles from those poppy fields and they are beautiful. BUT, I don’t think it’s smart to lay in them like this photo….there are snakes out here. Lots of snakes – that love those poppy fields!

It kind of reminds me of Wizard Of Oz where they fall asleep in the flowers. I always wanted to prance through that field!
