meat america…

You might remember my first post about Dominic Episcipo's United Steaks of America a while back. Well, the off-kilter and meaty series has expanded into a full-on exhibition now titled M.E.A.T. America…which is fun, funny, and clever all wrapped up in one meaty package.

For those of you in Philly, the exhibition opens tomorrow night at Bambi Gallery on 2nd St. It promises to be an eye-opening and artery-closing tour of the American spirit {and vegetarians are welcome!}.

  1. So funny you should post this…I was at whole foods the other day here in los angeles shopping to make christmas dinner. I was at the butcher counter ordering some chicken, when I looked behind the glass and noticed they had taken the ground pork and made into the shape of a pigs head with cherry tomatoes as the eyes!

  9. Any vegetarian would know better than to attend this. As if animals don’t suffer enough with factory farms now their bodies are being used to play with? Awful, just awful.

  10. I have mixed feelings about this too. While it’s certainly clever, with standard american meat-industry practices poor enough as it is, this blatant glorification (albeit humorous) of meat is in bad taste.

  11. haha suzanne love the Smiths quote! I am a vegetarian so I think I see those prints in a different light. I must say they are thought provoking though.
