Crack-caramel

Crack-caramel

I hope you guys had a nice weekend! (And I'm so happy to hear that those of you in New York finally got your power back!). Sorry to be MIA on Friday; I flew to San Francisco on Thursday for a press event and woke up Friday morning with food poisoning! I immediately had to catch a flight back to L.A., and as soon as I got home landed in bed for the next 24 hours. Terrible.

Anyway, I'm happy to be almost 100% up-and-running again…and back to eating! So, I had to share my newest sweet craving with you. I never loved caramels as a kid, but for some reason, I love them now…especially when they're freshly made, like these from Crack Caramel (and yes, that's their name for good reason!). Buttery, sweet, melty, and a tiny bit salty…yum…

  1. YUM! I love caramel – might have to go check these out. 🙂 And glad to hear you’re feeling better. I visited the new West Elm in Orange County at South Coast Plaza yesterday and thought of you!

  2. Mmmmm…my husband almost always makes these around the holidays. We give them away as little holiday presents along with chocolate truffles. I’m responsible for the adorable packaging, and he makes the sweets (they are actually pretty east to make). We enjoy quite a few along the way ourselves!

  3. food poisoning is the absolute worst. so glad you’re on the mend.
same here – caramel is a recent acquired taste for me. tip: salted caramel ice cream at sweet rose creamery is just the right amount.

  4. Yikes! Food poisoning + a plane = misery. Glad you’re feeling better. Caramels have always been the only candy I’ve ever liked. (I was a really weird kid because of that.) Now I have to check this new-found crack out. Such a pusher you are…

  5. Crazy! Matt, Leah, and I all got food poisoning too Thursday from something on the plane!! Made our first day in Hong Kong a little rough.

  6. So funny! I just pinned their crack pops yesterday. Was looking at the company because they are on gilt.com this week. Unfortunately, they only ship via overnight so the shipping to NYC is exorbitant. Whaaaa. 🙁 Glad you’re feeling better too. Stomach flu + Joy = no mucho bueno.

  7. Happy to hear that you are feeling better! 🙂 Food poisoning is such a bad experience. The caramels look delicious. And you can’t beat the fact that they are fresh caramels. Yummy.
