My favorite thing about giving gifts is wrapping them. I don't know why, but I've always loved figuring out fun ways to adorn a gift other than with the usual bow. For example, I got these mini-LED lights to wrap around this gift. Nothing's more festive then a lit-up, glowing package, right?
I also love using materials that can be used again…either for wrapping another gift or for something else altogether. For example, these stretchy headbands can be used to hold your wrap job together for a colorful, clean, no-tape option. Then just tie on a pretty ornament!
Or top off a simple ribbon with something unexpected, like these animal chip clips. They add a sculptural quality to the present, and offer a little extra function for your recipient's everyday snacking.
Throughout this holiday season, I'll be sharing some of my favorite ideas for gift-giving and gift-wrapping over on this Pinterest board in collaboration with Target. Every day, I'll be pinning a new idea that I'm loving or that I've come up with, so I hope you'll follow along for some last-minute ideas and inspiration!
P.S. And a little bonus gift wrap DIY I created over at Refinery29 about how to use all those leftover scraps of wrapping paper!

These are all so beautiful! I love the idea of using materials that can used again. I always feel so guilty when I know my presents are creating so much trash — this solves that problem!

The mini LED lights are such a great idea! I have some from last year that I wasn’t sure what to do with but now I do! Thanks for the great ideas, Nicola x
Oh I love the little LED lights! It would be an expensive endeavor to wrap every one that way but perhaps for someone special. 😉 This is awesome. Thanks joy!

The idea of using the hair bands is genius! Perfect for a tween. I could imagine using some other hair accessories or fascinator type things as bows which would really be a nice added bonus to the gift.

Those are really quirky. Especially the lights though I don’t know how practical that is 😉 That said I found a video of someone wrapping a cat ha ha. Love this time of year. Would love to hear what you think of my efforts: http://www.threegurus.com/post/37408382697/how-to-gift-wrap-a-cat-and-other-tricks
The mini lights are such a fun idea!
Fun ideas! I never considered using lights!
See, I like reusable gift wrap stuff, too. So I made all these ceramic button bow things (see here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ameliastudio/8056567905/in/photostream) and no one at the craft fair I was in got them. People were so confused. Boo.
Did you get the gift wrap from Target? I love the designs.
Yes! And thanks!
Joy
Simple, yet beautiful – love your gift wrapping game 🙂 In the future will try to use a string of lights too.
