The other night, Bob and I were talking about our goal to buy a house in the next several years. Homes in LA are so expensive that I almost want to rent forever. But then I remember how nice it would be to really create the home you want and do cool things like paint the floors. Clink, clink…do you hear that sound? It's the sound of my pretty pennies falling into my piggy bank!

P.S. More amazing floors right here

  1. we’ve owned our own place for 2 years now and to be honest, we want to turn back time and go back to renting. haa. but i will say, to have the liberty of decorating your home the way you want is rather special.

  2. I just LOVE all of these and the ones on your pinterest page!!! And I am a painter…If only I was brave enough. 😛

  3. I can’t wait until I can have my own home, I HATE renting. But until we’re married, settled down and have real jobs, we don’t have too many options. It’s hard to make a rental where you can’t paint anything feel like a home, though :/

  4. You know, I’d never thought of painting the floor. I guess that’s because I’ve always really loved hardwood floors. But a bright colored floor sounds so cool now!

  5. The striped flooring, white and wood, is so simple but graphic! I would love to do something like that in my own home someday! It’s the same with ceilings, I have always wanted to wallpaper or paint a design on the ceilings.

  6. I am a huge advocate of painted floors. The husband cringes each time I suggest it, what is with guys and their need to leave all wood untainted?

  7. I feel exactly the same way living in San Francisco. It feels so hard to take that leap from renting to buying because it’s so expensive! Love the floors!

  8. The triangle ground is so cool. I know what you mean about buying a house in LA. It’s crazy expensive. But I wish you guys can buy your dream home soon 🙂

  9. I’ve always wanted to try painting hardwood, but I’m afraid I would mess it up too much and risk damaging the natural wood. Those stripes of white are super fun though!
    XOXO

  10. LA is so expensive. Our rent = 3 grand for a tiny condo in West LA. The nice houses in a good area are a minimum of 7 figures. :O
