My belly is growing, and I'm excited to share with you the second episode of my Dressing the Bump series! This week, I'm sharing some maternity essentials that are perfect for bringing in around 16 weeks—including jeans, shorts, and tees—and how they can be incorporated with your non-maternity clothing. I hope this inspires you pregnant mamas to get creative with your current wardrobe while also letting a few of those maternity staples in.
Feel free to leave any questions or requests for future episodes in the comments below!
*Please keep in mind that all bellies are shaped and sized differently and grow at different rates. I hope you'll find these videos helpful at some stage of your pregnancy.
P.S. 12 weeks!

Congratulations, Joy! I am 22 weeks pregnant with my first little one and these dressing the bump videos are so helpful! I have several weddings to attend this summer. I’d love your advice on non-maternity formal wear that could be used during pregnancy!
I think it will be a boy. Ca va être un garçon!
Is there a link to where I can find all your maternity outfits from your first pregnancy? Thanks!
My favorite blog <3 I must have red pons!
Eliza.
You look so cute! And I bought those floral pants at Target and it was quite hysterical to try to get them on! Perhaps if I have another bump, I can wear them low – that’s the only way they’re fitting! (:
Hi Liz,
The rack is from here:http://www.normann-copenhagen.com/products/toj-clothes-rack-small?v=600000
It was purchased last year so I am not sure if its still available.
Best!

Such a sweet video and great tips! Love that yellow jacket. If only maternity outfits were that stylish when I was pregnant!
I’m not even pregnant but love these videos. I’m storing away the advice for when we decide baby number two should join our clan. Thanks Joy!

Joy I love the trouser pants from Target. It says there are girls trousers! Did the medium or large’s actually fit?
These are so wonderful! I just found out I’m pregnant (4 weeks along with my first!) and am so into these videos for many reasons. Though I’m not to this point yet, I would love it if you would share shoes that you like as the pregnancy furthers and your feet get more sore…my friends complain that it is so hard to find comfy shoes that are cute as well. You are inspiring!
Hi Kelsi!
Congrats on your pregnancy! Yes, I have an episode with shoes planned for later on so stay tuned for that 😉
Best to you,
Joy

They are actually a girls XL! They fit if you are petite (I am 52) and must be worn under the belly for sure!

I just discovered your blog and I have been looking around, lovely pics, colourse and beautiful and adorable little girl. congrats on your new baby
Wow, congratulations!! I’m 16w4d now, and my belly is definitely growing but I haven’t pulled out the maternity clothes yet. Great video~ I love the scalloped shorts and floral pants!
Thank you, Joy! Not available now, but great site!
Your videos are always so colourful and happy 🙂 I would love to know where your knot ring and your necklace with the R (so cute!) are from? Sorry that it’s not a maternity clothes question, I am not pregnant but like your style, generally!
You’re my hero! I’m 8 weeks along with baby #2 and already seem to have “taco belly” as you called it in your first video. Love the clothes you feature and you look amazing! Congrats!
Thank you Ivana! Welcome!
Joy

I love this little series…I am 12 weeks so these are super helpful so I know what’s coming with this growing belly of mine!! You look adorable!
Congrats Sharon!
My belly is bigger this second time around so I pulled out the maternity even sooner!
Joy
Congrats to you! And thank you for watching!
Joy
Your walk is so cute! I loved the video! I also loved how you listed the brands. I think that, when the time comes, ASOS would be a great place to find some cute shorts and tops…I was just checking out their site and a lot of the clothing descriptions said that those items were meant for the duration of a pregnancy. I wonder if that is true…but I AM EXCITED to see how the coming weeks go for outfits.
Congrats Jennifer!! And thanks for watching!
Joy
You look so cute! I loved the video. I have been keeping up with your blog for over a year and am just now getting around to watching one of your videos. I loved it! Congratulations and I can’t wait to see more posts and videos!

Hi! New to your blog & am so excited to see your dress the bump videos. You have a great style & I am looking forward for whats to come! In your original video (pregnant with your daughter), one of the outfits was a purple, yellow, green maxi with what looks like a black tee over it. Just wondering if that was a maternity shirt, or if you just took a tee & cut it how you wanted. Thanks for the help!
Hi Jenn!
Thank you!
It was actually a regular cropped tee (not maternity). But I wore it over so many strappy dresses to give more coverage up top. In my next video, Ill be covering dresses and will talk about this trick too!
Joy
I love these videos! I’m pregnant with my first baby and I’ve been following your style advice all along. Love that you don’t just resort to 100% maternity clothes. Keep the videos coming!!!
Can you tell me more about the awesome yellow accessory rack?
Thanks so much Meghan! And congrats on baby! 😉
Joy
I am thinking of getting that Isabella Oliver top, but I am not sure what the sizing is like. If you don’t mind me asking, what size are you wearing? I am not normally a US size 2 (Jcrew, BR, etc.). Would I fit the Isabella Oliver, size 1, you think?
Thanks!
Hi Randa!
The coat hook is from Blu Dot! 😉

Hi DT!
I am wearing a size 1 in Isabella Oliver. Its close to a XS as its pretty fitting. Id say go up a size if youre closer to a S or M.
Best!
Joy
Very interesting way of dressing your unborn baby. Great post
MY wife’s pregnancy is 3 weeks and like playing with it when home
