Halloween Pop-Up Runner DIY

Halloween is on the horizon, so we wanted to create something festive and fun that you could make for an adult or kid's party with this pop-up table runner…

To make the runner, here's what you'll need:

-Our template that can be downloaded right here

-X-acto knife

-Cutting mat

-Glue stick or spray fixative

-Thick paper that comes in a roll (like seamless paper or good quality wrapping paper)

Here's how:

1. Cut the paper to be the length of your table and the desired width of your runner. We like about 1 foot wide and have the runner go almost the length of the table. Choose two paper colors and join them back to back so that you have one main color and one accent color behind it. Alternatively, if you find double-sided wrapping paper that already has two different colors or patterns, that's even easier!

2. Use our template (download here) to choose which elements you'd like to have on your pop-up. You can mix different ones and place them on different areas of the runner. We made sure the images were spread out enough to place food around them while still letting the little figures interact with the food.

3. Print out the template and place it over the spot you'd like to cut out on your paper. Then use an X-acto knife to cut on the solid lines cutting through the template and through your runner paper. Whenever I’m crafting with paper, I make sure to keep some BAND-AID® Brand Adhesive Bandages and Neosporin around just in case of accidental nicks. It’s an easy thing to pick up whenever I’m at Target shopping for the other snacks I’ll get for my party. And those Isaac Mizrahi ones are crazy cute!

4. Pop-out the image and fold at the base (where indicated with dotted lines on the template).

5. Finally, decorate the table with snacks and treats of your choice around the pop-ups! We stuck to creative ways to serve easy-to-find treats like apples dipped in white chocolate and sprinkles, ingredients to make s'mores, and yummy dried fruit and popcorn.
