I'm sure everyone (including myself) had this Ikea chair in their college dorm or their first apartment. It's an affordable and comfortable chair that has become a classic. But what if you want to give it your own touch, the solution is super easy…just paint it!
Using fabric paint, we brushed on a mix of colors in thick strokes and then layered some smaller grey polka dots on top!
Keep in mind, if you do go with a pretty bold mix of colors like ours, off-set the chair colors with other neutral items (like the wall color and rug) so that your eye focuses on your new custom piece of work!

This is fantastic, I love how vibrant it looks. I’ve seen this chair a thousand times, but this actually looks unique!

Question: Will sitting on that fabric paint get one itchy if one has sensitive skin?
My baby uses his mini version of this as a trampoline 🙂
I have this chair and I’ve been looking for a way to customise it! Thanks for the inspiration! 🙂
That’s a really cute chair even without your new decorations – I don’t think I’ve seen chairs like this in the UK! Love the little black dots mixed with the brighter colours 🙂 xo
