This month's Color Adventures challenge seemed easy in theory, but as much as I love these two colors, I rarely wear them together! Here are four outfits I put together in green and blue from dressy to casual…
1. Just a Hint—Here's an outfit that brings in subtle touches of blue and green with shades that are slight and subtle. The velvet pants made the smoky blue a bit more textural and offers contrast to the lacy white top. The mint green shoes here are meant to be a focal point with the pop of contrast and fun shape.
Just-a-Hint: Doen white top, Gap velvet joggers, and Paola d'Arcano shoes (past season).
2. 50/50—Here's an outfit that plays with equal amounts of kelly green and turquoise blue with an embroidered dress layered with a flowy spring jacket. Neutral silver shoes top off the dressy look ready for the office or for dinner out.
50/50: dRA Los Angeles jacket, ASOS dress, Loeffler Randall shoes.
3. Pastel Pop—This one mixes a bunch of shades of blue and green but stays in the pastels for a flirty look perfect for spring. When mixing similar shades in different colors, make sure to add in a small contrast of color for visual interest (like the scarf) so there is a focal point of the outfit.
Pastel Pop: Forever21 jacket, vintage scarf, Madewell shirt, ASOS striped skirt, Marais sandals.
4. Bright and Light—Finally, here's an example where one color is bright and bold and the other is pale and more subdued. I paired this bright cobalt top with these pale mint pants for a casual and comfortable outfit made a tad dressier with silver heels.
Bright and Light: Ace & Jig top (past season), The Wilde Bloem beaded necklace, vintage pants, Loeffler Randall shoes.
What do you think? Which combos are your favorite?
