Whatever shape, size, age, color, ability – your body deserves to be celebrated. It is doing the hard work everyday of keeping you here on this earth, housing your amazing spirit, and connected to your brilliant mind.
Lately I’ve been back to playing tennis (I used to play competitively), and I am LOVING it! It feels awesome to be outside, dust off my racket, brush up my skills, and hit the ball around. But I’m trying not to overthink it and enjoy it for what it is. I also love a good kitchen dance while I’m cooking or giving my kids a snack. Sometimes I’ll do a little jump rope in the driveway. And I always get in daily walks with my puppy, Sticky Rice Cho. My head feels more clear, there’s a little less stress in my days, and it brings joy to take care of me.
Remind yourself that unless you are going through major health issues, your body doesn’t need to get smaller or bigger or stronger or sleeker! It’s amazing today, right now, serving you so well.
Your body deserves to be appreciated! Moving your body is a way to celebrate it. Being active (in whatever way makes sense for you) helps lower stress, can refocus your brain, and gets your blood pumping! Move you body alone, with your partner or kids, with a friend, in a class, on social media – however you want! There’s no time minimums, heart rate goals, calories burned or “problem areas”. Today, there’s only adoration for our fabulous bodies and just making yourself feel good for YOU.
