Style Tips: Ruffles

Ruffles can sound fussy, frilly, or over the top. But, I find them to add a nice shape and movement to pieces. Here are a few of my favorite ways to wear ruffles…

Ruffles can sound fussy, frilly, or over the top. But I find them to add a nice shape and movement to pieces. Here are a few of my favorite ways to wear ruffles…

Outfit 1 – Casual Ruffles (above)
I paired this fitted ruffle tank with a more relaxed pant. The contrast makes it feel more special then a lounge-at-home outfit but it’s just as comfortable as one!

Outfit 2 – Party Lace
This ruffled skirt is full-on fun! While you could save it for a special event, you can make every day feel like a party by adding a tee or blouse tucked into the high-waisted skirt. Instant joy!

Outfit 3 – Graphic Ruffles
When ruffles are added to a patterned piece, the ruffles become less of the focus. Instead, the ruffles help to soften what could be a very strong pattern or color. I love the contrast in this piece because it’s both graphic and feminine.

Outfit 4 – Romantic Ruffles
This is a soft and pretty dress in a soft and pretty color. While I love that, it needed a little contrast so I added this vintage sequin vest. It adds just enough color and a change in texture from the rest of the dress to make it pop.
