Last Friday, on the night before my birthday, Bob and I were headed out to see the new Star Trek movie. While I was excited to be going out to the movies, I'm not super into Star Trek and kept joking how I'd find excuses to skip the movie. When we went into the garage to get into the car, the garage door opened and I saw these friends with waiting outside to surprise me. I was confused and baffled…my mind was wondering, "Wait, are they seeing Star Trek, too?" Bob surprised me by gathering the girls together to whisk me off to a sushi dinner instead.
To be truly surprised with an unexpected treat like that really made my day, my week, maybe even my year. And, my friends and family showered me with best treats…mini pies, boba milk tea, cupcakes, homemade mochi, cookies, cake, and so much more. I was on a sugar high for about a week. This was the best birthday in a long time, and I really felt so loved. It reminded me how much birthdays are so special and how important it is to celebrate (in whatever small ways you can) that one day that someone gets to call their own.

Awwwwww! What an awesome surprise. When I was younger I had to share my birthday with my cousin, we’re only hours apart. Oh, and Star Trek was actually pretty awesome! Action packed, and I say it’s totally a chick flick. I might even go see it again.

That’s so awesome, you have such a sweet husband! I actually went back home this weekend to surprise my dad for his 60th birthday, and it feels just as wonderful to give a surprise as it does to receive one. It’s been a week but I still cry when I watch the video:)!

My husband read that before you see the new “Star Trek,” you should see the original feature “Star Trek: Wrath of Kahn.” I haven’t seen the new “Star Trek” yet, but after seeing “Wrath of Kahn” last night, I can totally understand how it would enhance experience of seeing the new show!

I’m actually really excited for star trek, but I have friends too that aren’t into star trek and said it was really good too. I can’t wait to see it!

Aww, what a sweet surprise… Happy birthday! And the Star Trek movie is pretty good~ I saw it last week with my husband when we both needed a mid-week break.
