During my recent trip to San Francisco, one of my favorite spots we visited was Mr. Holmes Bakehouse. So, I was excited to see this fun baked good shop open a location in Los Angeles a couple months ago!
From their signature cruffin (the baby of a crossiant + muffin) to donuts to bread pudding, it's a paradise for anyone who loves a sweet (but not-too-sweet) morning pastry or afternoon pick-me-up. Um…that's me…all the time.
The space is minimal, fresh, and modern, and a fun addition to LA's Highland Park. Now, if only that cruffin didn't sell out by 9:30am…

Oh my gosh this place looks amazing – why does it have to be an ocean away?

Yummy!

This is rather tone-deaf post for today, especially from a woman of color.
What a beautiful place! And your photography is stunning too. Molly x

I would have to agree. I wouldn’t expect political commentary on a site like this but a post on cupcakes in the wake of this election is off-putting.
Now if only they would open up a location in Portland!

Heather
This place looks so good! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
+1. I love this blog and look forward to it as a daily click, but it does feel somewhat hurtful not to have ANY mention at all. Yes, we come to look at pretty things, but also to relate, to find community. This is disappointing.
OH MY!!! This is somewhere I simply HAVE to visit at some point in my life. Total yum!
Sorry 🙁 I don’t discuss politics on social media.
Joy
Thanks Molly! Casey, our photographer, is wonderful!

Sorry guys to disappoint you. The post was planned in advance and went up automatically. I don’t discuss politics online and I’m sorry if I didn’t give you what you wanted that day. I have lots of thoughts and feelings about this week, but not ones that I am ready to share on social media.
Best,
Joy
Megan,
I totally get it. And I’m sorry I disappointed you. Believe me, I have things to say and feel. But I also am private in some parts of my life and politics is not something I choose to discuss on the internet. Now, if you want to meet up and have coffee in person to chat about it, let’s do it 🙂
Joy
Thanks for getting back. Im in Austin Texas 🙂
Appreciate the response though.

Wow. I have to echo the same sentiment. Absolutely disappointing.
Jen,
I’m sorry to disappoint you but I don’t discuss politics on social media. Some people do, but it is my choice not to.
Best,
